Penguins Sign Carcillo To Tryout Contract

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – In an effort to rebuild the bottom six forwards, the Pittsburgh Penguins have added another tough guy to the mix.

According to the team's official website, Daniel Carcillo has signed a profession tryout contract with the Penguins.

The 6-foot, 200-pound forward was originally drafted by the Penguins in the third round of the 2003 NHL Draft.

He played with the Penguins' AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for two years.

In his nine years in the NHL, Carcillo has played for the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks, Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers.

Carcillo has played in three Stanley Cup Finals in his career. He hoisted the Stanley Cup as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.

In 390 career games, Carcillo has 44 goals, 48 assists and 1,179 penalty minutes.
