Paul Chryst: Don't Mind Growing Pains If We're Growing
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Pitt football head coach Paul Chryst joined "The Fan Morning Show" Thursday for his regular weekly spot as his Panthers prepare to take on Duke at Heinz Field on Saturday.
Chryst indicated that he'll leave it mostly up to his players to correct the miscues - namely the six fumbles - that doomed them in their homecoming loss to Georgia Tech.
"You don't need to be Coach Obvious," Chryst said. "That a guy drops a catch, 'catch the ball!' or fumbles it, and you know, 'don't fumble!' You can't beat them up."
He said that he can live with Saturday's ugly result if it moves them toward something better.
"I don't mind going through growing pains if we're growing," Chryst said. "But, if we're just going through pain for the sake of pain, not real smart."
Chryst usually joins "The Fan Morning Show" Thursdays at 7:20 a.m.
