Pat Narduzzi Finds New Offensive Coordinator For Pitt

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Known for being a defensive minded coach, one of the most important hires for Pat Narduzzi's staff at Pitt was going to be his offensive coordinator.

Narduzzi appears to have made quite a splash with the hiring as he has taken Arkansas offensive coordinator Jim Chaney from the SEC and brought him to the ACC. Chaney will also serve as the teams quarterbacks coach.

The Chaney hiring follows suit with the type of staff Narduzzi appears to be assembling as Chaney, like defensive coordinator Josh Conklin from FIU, represents a veteran coach already familiar with the role he'll be taking on here at Pitt.

The 53-year-old Chaney has been the offensive coordinator at Arkansas since 2012, after being the offensive coordinator at Tennessee from 2009-12 and Purdue from 1997-2005.

Chaney also has NFL experience coaching the offensive linemen and tight ends for the St. Louis Rams from 2006-08.

Chaney was the highest-paid assistant at Arkansas, with a salary of $550,000, which means Pitt has likely reached deep into their wallets to lure him to Narduzzi's staff.
