Pa. Lawmakers Discuss Strategies For Safely Reopening Schools

HARRISBURG (KDKA) -- With schools reopening their doors in the coming weeks, state lawmakers are looking into what needs to be done to keep teachers and students safe.

Pennsylvania state Senate democrats held a virtual hearing Monday to talk about strategies. They say all schools must plan for contact tracing, quarantining and isolation.

In addition, schools must have a detailed plan for what to do if they have a confirmed case.

There is also talk of possibly providing coronavirus tests at school.

They also discussed how important it is for schools to have adequate ventilation, which goes beyond just opening the windows.

Lawmakers also said all schools must have the necessary resources to carry out remote learning.
