BOLIVAR BOROUGH, Pa. (KDKA) -- An 84-year-old woman is dead and her husband was flown to the hospital after an overnight fire in Bolivar Borough, Westmoreland County.

A neighbor who lives across the street ran over and began knocking, but their calls went unheard.

The Westmoreland County coroner identified the victim as 84-year-old Joanna Policichio.

"She was a wonderful person. She's been our neighbor for 60 years and we were all good friends," said one neighbor.

For the Bolivar fire chief, this is an incident that hits close to home. He said the community is tight knit. He also knows the couple, because they're his neighbors.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
