One dead, one injured in head-on crash on Rt. 51 near Uniontown

Deadly crash in Fayette County under investigation

MENALLEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- One person was killed and another was injured during a head-on crash along Route 51 outside Uniontown. 

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in Menallen Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers say that 43-year-old James Temple was driving under the influence heading southbound when he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another car head-on.

Temple was flown by medics to Ruby Memorial Hospital and according to the Fayette County Coroner, he is expected to survive. 

It's unclear what charges may be filed in connection with the crash.
