Ohio State Study To Test Hard Candy As Means Of Coronavirus Screening

COLUMBUS (KDKA) -- Getting a coronavirus test up your nostril is not the most pleasant feeling.

But what if you could get screened for coronavirus with candy? A team of researchers at Ohio State University will be doing a study about that.

Every day, participants will be asked to identify the taste and smell of a specially-created hard candy. If someone reports a sudden drop in taste, they'll get a text message that instructs them to get tested.
