"From what we could see, it looked like a funnel cloud crossed the road. I saw lots of trees toppled and uprooted," Loring said.

Matthew Kramar, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, says it was a "very focused area of damage from one hillside to the next."

The day after the tornado, the path was clear.

According to the NWS, videos recorded Tuesday night pointed meteorologists in the right direction.

"It's helpful that we had video of the tornado accessible, so two videos showed a rather clear rotation of the clouds and based on the damage, you can assess rotation in the overall picture of the damage," Kramar said.

No one was hurt and no homes were destroyed.
