PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police say a Tuesday evening shooting in North Braddock appears to be connected to another shooting that happened a day earlier in the same area.
The shooting Tuesday night happened in the 600 block of Jones Avenue around 8:10 p.m.
Officials found the 85-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital and was last listed in critical condition.
According to Allegheny County Police, the shooting appears to be connected to one that happened Monday afternoon on Jones Avenue near Bell Avenue.
A man was shot in the leg. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
"This is a very active investigation right now and we're doing everything we possibly can along with the county to rectify it," North Braddock Mayor Tom Wheyl said.
Wheyl said he's not surprised the shootings happened in the same area of Jones Avenue.
"It's not surprising. It was almost anticipated, but there's nothing you can do about that," he said.
KDKA's Lisa Washington Reports:
There are surveillance cameras in the area and the video is part of the investigation.
"They were instrumental in the investigation. They're functional, they're not fake," Wheyl said. "You can see that those folks that are involved know those cameras are there, it doesn't matter."
The mayor went on to say people who live in the borough should be concerned.
"You shouldn't feel scared, but you should be cognizant of your surroundings and be aware," he said.
Allegheny County Police haven't said if there is one suspect or more than one in these shootings. However, they did say that they plan to make an arrest for both shootings.
