Former Penguins Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury Traded From Vegas To Chicago

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Las Vegas Golden Knights have traded former Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks made the news official Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.
Canadian hockey journalist and insider Darren Dreger first reported the trade. The Knights will get Blackhawks' minor league forward Mikael Hakkarainen in the exchange.

The Knights selected Fleury from the Penguins in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft.
Fleury's agent, Allan Walsh, took to Twitter following reports of the trade. He says the Golden Knights had not been in contact with Fleury, who "will be taking time to discuss his situation with his family and seriously evaluate his hockey future at this time."

Fleury was honored just a few weeks ago as the NHL's 2020-2021 Vezina Trophy winner. The trophy is given to the league's best goaltender each season. It was the first time in Fleury's 17-year career that he was nominated for the award.
Fleury, a fan favorite in Pittsburgh, was the No. 1 pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Penguins.
