New USF Head Basketball Coach Orlando Antigua Ready To Take On Challenge
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) - It's been quite a few weeks for the University of South Florida.
But now that the dust has settled, the university has finally found their guy to coach the men's basketball team. He's former Pitt and Kentucky assistant coach, Orlando Antigua.
Antigua joined Colin Dunlap Tuesday night on 93-7 The Fan and the guys discussed the news that Antigua will take over as USF's new head basketball coach.
Colin asked Antigua about the skills he would be taking with him to his new position that he has learned from his time coaching at Pitt and Kentucky.
"I take a lot, I learned a lot under Jamie, and I learned a lot, obviously, under Cal, and incorporating both of those things, I think will serve me," said Antigua.
Colin asked Antigua if he has had a chance to think about some of the changes he may want to bring to the program.
"Once I get a chance to have some time to spend with my team, then you can really identify what adjustments it is that you want to do and that you want to change," Antigua said.
Colin also asked Antigua about his goals as head coach at USF.
"I'd want a former player or an alum to feel how I feel about Pitt and what they're doing," he said.
