New Ewan McGregor Movie Begins Filming In Harmony
HARMONY (KDKA) -- Another movie has started filming in and around the Pittsburgh area.
According to InsideButlerCounty.com, "American Pastoral" – directed by and starring Ewan McGregor – is beginning production today and Thursday in Harmony.
The film is McGregor's directorial debut and also stars Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning.
The movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, written by Phillip Roth, of the same name.
The story, set in postwar America, follows a legendary high school athlete who grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father's business.
But his perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by becoming a revolutionary and committing a deadly act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War.
The book was published in 1997.
