New Charges Filed Against Man In Downtown Machete Attack
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A man accused of attacking another man with a machete at a bus stop Downtown was in court Monday morning.
However, the hearing for Jason Butler was postponed after additional charges were filed over the weekend.
Butler allegedly tried to intimidate witnesses in the case.
His attorney said he needs more time to prepare their case and review evidence.
"Today really was a postponement, and the postponement was due to the fact that there's a videotape that my office needs to review. We couldn't move forward with the case today without seeing that videotape. For us, it's imperative," attorney Nicole Nino said.
Police don't think the machete attack was random.
Investigators think butler was upset with another man over a woman that they were dating at the same time.
