National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory For Parts Of Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Rain and wind moved into the area on Monday, which has prompted some alerts.

According to the National Weather Service, a Wind Advisory is in effect for the following counties:

Cambria, Fayette, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Somerset, Venango and Westmoreland

The advisory is in effect until midnight with 20 to 30 mph winds expected. Gusts could reach up to 50 mph.

While an advisory has not been issued for Allegheny County, the county airport recorded a gust of 44 mph around 7 a.m.

Temperatures have been falling throughout the day and will remain cool for Tuesday.

According to KDKA-TV Meteorologist Ron Smiley, Tuesday will be dry and cool with a high of 49 degrees. However, Wednesday and Thursday will warm up with highs of 68 and 73 degrees.
