Naked Man Chased By Police Before Falling 40 Feet Over Hillside
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man is recovering in the hospital after a falling down a steep hillside in Shaler Monday night.
According to police, the incident happened on Orvis Avenue around 10 p.m.
Jacob Fitzpatrick heard a noise outside of his home. The man, dressed only in socks, ran from the Fitzpatricks' back yard to a neighbor's bush and burrowed inside.
As Jacob yelled for his father and tried to call 911, the nude man proceeded to then slam himself into the side of their home three times.
"It was dark and I heard a noise. I turned on my cellphone flashlight and all I saw was a naked dude standing up," said neighbor Jacob Fitzpatrick. "Didn't have any clothes on. He ran over and hit my fence. He came out of my yard and ran into my neighbor's bush and then I started calling 911. As I was dialing 911, three cops pulled up in front of my house. One got out, tased the dude and he fell over the hill."
The man fell more than 40 feet down the steep hillside.
Neighbors said the police asked the man several times to comply before using the Taser.
One neighbor, who watched the entire incident, said the man got back up and appeared to dive over the hillside.
Rescue crews had to be called in to help pull the man from the bottom of the hill. He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Shaler Police have not released the name of the 21-year-old suspect at this time.
