20-Vehicle Accident Reported On I-79 In Butler County
SLIPPERY ROCK (KDKA) -- A multi-vehicle crash was reported on Interstate 79 Friday afternoon.
State police in Butler County said northbound I-79 was restricted to a single lane before the Slippery Rock exit due to a crash involving 20 vehicles.
A police report states that one crash quickly escalated into multiple due to the location of the crash combined with white-out conditions.
Several vehicles became stuck in the median in order to avoid the pileup.
PennDOT reported some parts of Butler County had as much as five inches of snow overnight.
