Mount Pleasant father, son accused of pursuing, firing gun into another vehicle
MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa. (KDKA) -- A father and son were arrested and charged by Pennsylvania State Police after the two allegedly pursued a vehicle and fired several rounds at it.
The victim told troopers he was approached by Paul Caletri Jr., 70, and Paul Caletri III, 30, on Bridgeport Street in Mount Pleasant Township around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
The victim said he saw Caletri III holding what appeared to be a shotgun and noticed the barrel of the gun was pointed toward the driver's side door. The victim told troopers that he heard Caletri III say that he was going to shoot him, and he fled from the residence in his truck, according to a news release from the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office.
The suspects allegedly followed the victim in each of their vehicles while they chased the victim across multiple streets through the township and borough, the news release added. The victim also claimed one of the suspects was hanging out of the window with a gun in his hand and heard several shots fired during the pursuit.
The victim said the Caletris intentionally rammed his truck and blocked his door near Coppula Drive. The victim then climbed out of his truck through a window, ran into a gas station, and asked the clerk to call 911.
State troopers tracked down Caletri III who allegedly admitted to shooting at the victim's vehicle twice with a shotgun.
No one was injured as a result of the gunfire.
Caletri Jr. and Caletri III have been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and reckless driving.
Caletri III was transported to the Westmoreland County Prison while Caletri Jr. was released.
