Motorcyclist, Passenger Injured After Hitting Deer En Route To Niagara Falls

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two people riding on a motorcycle were injured after hitting a deer in Lawrence County.

The motorcycle driver and female passenger were part of a motorcycle group called the Blue Knights, comprised of police officers from Kentucky and Indiana. They were traveling to Niagara Falls when they crashed along Route 18 in Big Beaver Borough.

Police say the one motorcycle was hit broadside, and although the driver was able to keep the motorcycle upright, he and the female suffered leg and ankle injuries.

The deer was killed.

Officials say the driver was retired police officer from Evansville, Indiana.
