More Snow Expected This Weekend, Deep Freeze Next Week

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Another round of winter weather is hitting our region.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Pittsburgh area is expected to get between 2 and 4 inches of snow by Saturday – likely to hit after midnight.

As much as 6 inches could fall in the Laurel Highlands.

The NWS also predicts winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour and gusts up to 30 miles per hour.

Temperatures Friday are expected to hover in the teens, but Saturday will vary between a low of 1 degree and high of 27.

"Everybody's going to be shivering away," said KDKA Meteorologist Dennis Bowman.
Sunday will also bring some more snow, with a possible 1 or 2 inches Sunday night, according to Bowman.

Temperatures will dip down again at the beginning of next week, with temperatures as low as -6 degrees Monday night and -10 degrees Tuesday night.
