Mom Facing DUI Charges After Crash With Son, 11, In Car
CENTER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A woman is facing DUI charges after an accident in Beaver County and her 11-year-old son was in the vehicle.
State Police in Beaver County say 35-year-old Jennifer McGee had a blood alcohol content of at least .28 when she crashed her car on Interstate 376.
The accident happened last Thursday, Sept. 18 around 6 p.m. in Center Township.
Police say McGee's 11-year-old son was a passenger in the car.
According to state police, McGee was headed eastbound when she swerved, hit a guardrail and then went into the median.
McGee then went into the westbound lanes and was driving in the wrong direction.
She hit a car, injuring the driver, and then continued to drive before going over a bridge in Center Township and finally stopping.
Troopers say McGee had red and glassy eyes when they went to the scene. They also say she smelled like alcohol and had difficulty following simple commands.
McGee, who has a Monaca address listed on the criminal complaint but recently moved to Beaver Falls, faces nine charges, including DUI and endangering the welfare of children.
It's unclear if CYF was called.
McGee, her son and the man in the other car that was hit are all expected to be okay.
