Missing Ohio Toddler Found Alive

NORTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio (KDKA/AP) - The search in northeastern Ohio ended Sunday evening for a toddler who disappeared Friday night from her great-grandmother's house.

The sheriff in Trumbull County told reporters Sunday morning that search dogs briefly picked up the 2-year-old girl's scent just down the street from where she was last seen.

And Sunday evening, WKBN reported that Rainn Peterson was found alive, not far from her home.

Police have not given details about how she was found, but said during the investigation that there were no signs of foul play in the disappearance of Peterson. She was last seen near the community of North Bloomfield. That's just north of Warren and Youngstown near the Pennsylvania state line.

Sheriff Tom Altiere says deputies searched the family's home several times and gave polygraph tests to the girl's relatives.

He said that one of the challenges would be that the three-foot-tall girl could be tough to spot if she's in a field or wooded area.
