Missing Elderly Man's Body Found In Beaver County

OHIOVILLE (KDKA) -- Officials in Beaver County have recovered the body of an elderly man who disappeared after wandering away from his home in the middle of the night.

William Zinich, 80, left his home along Smith's Ferry Road in Ohioville around 2 a.m. on foot and had been missing ever since.

Officials were very concerned because they say Zinich had Alzheimer's disease.

Police, firefighters, search teams and a state police helicopter were called in to help with the search, which was centered in the heavily wooded area in the 500-block of Smith's Ferry Road.

But this afternoon, search crews located his body in a creek around 2 p.m.

He reportedly fell over a guardrail and fell 150 feet or so down a hill into the water.
