Killed Maryland Officer Died From Friendly Fire In Ambush

LANDOVER, Md. (AP/KDKA) - Police in Maryland say a police office officer who died Sunday was killed as the result of friendly fire.

Authorities say that 29-year-old Officer Jacai Colson died as gunman's brothers recorded firefight 'as if it was a game.' CBS Baltimore has the latest.

The Prince George's County Police Department said previously that Colson died in an "unprovoked attack." The department says Colson was a four-year veteran. Three brothers are charged with the killing.

Officials say the shooting occurred at a community center next to the Landover police station in Prince George's County, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Police had initially posted a message on Twitter asking residents to avoid the area and to stay inside because of a possible "active shooter" situation.

Police later said they don't believe there are any other suspects.

Other details weren't immediately released, and the suspects weren't immediately identified.
