Mars, Pa. Celebrating Red Planet's "New Year"
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Of course we here on the third planet from the sun celebrate the new year in an Earthly fashion.
But in just three days it will be the Martian New Year.
And what better place to celebrate than Mars – the town.
Mars, Pa. plans to do just that on June 19 and 20.
The town will host two days of fun, including multiple presentations by NASA officials, a local astronomer and a showing of "Journey to Mars."
NASA's Planetary Science Division Director Jim Green and Dr. Julielynn Wong with the NASA Johnson Space Center/ Space Medicine will both be there.
