Ross Township Police Investigating Burglary Of Pizza Shop, Attempted Burglary Of Beer Store
ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) - The Ross Township Police are looking for a man they believe broke into a local pizza shop then tried to break into a nearby beer store.
On Facebook, Ross Township Police say a white male suspect broke into Mandy's Pizza in West View Thursday night. Around the same time, they say someone also tried to break into Northern Beer Traders in Ross Township, about a mile from Mandy's.
Surveillance footage shows a man wearing a black hat, black long-sleeved shirt and black shorts carrying what appears to be a cash register.
Mandy's Pizza owner came to his store Friday morning and found a back window smashed and both drawers gone.
"The way we've done business for 20 years here in West View, never a problem until now," said Steven Negri.
Police believe the two incidents are connected.
As many small businesses are trying to stay above water during the coronavirus pandemic, the owner of Mandy's says this is especially frustrating.
"In tough times like this for small businesses, this isn't the time to be breaking into other people's businesses. You needed help? All you had to do was ask," Negri said.
