Man Steals Wallet From Church Worker

WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) – Police need your help tracking down a suspect who stole a wallet from a Washington church.

Police say the man stole the wallet from a woman working at the First Lutheran Church on Walnut Street on Sept. 27.

The man was then seen on surveillance video using her debit card to withdraw $1,000.

The surveillance photo was from an ATM at PNC Bank on Jefferson Avenue.

Police say the crime is called access device fraud and it's pretty common. Although withdraws from an ATM are rare because a thief would have to know the PIN number.

But it's believed this may have been the first of this crime committed in a church.

Washington Police want you to call them if you have any information on the suspect.
