Man Stabbed With Hunting Knife During Argument At Indiana Co. Hotel
INDIANA, Pa. (KDKA) -- A man who tried to kick a woman out of his hotel room in Indiana County ended up in the hospital after police say she attacked him with a hunting knife.
Early Thursday morning, at the Brown Hotel, a raucous argument was keeping other tenants awake.
"Matt didn't tell me anything about what happened before I got there," said one witness who is still shaken from the ordeal. "When he opened the door, I asked him to keep it down."
Matthew Kynoch, 33, told the witness that he wanted Alison Rifendifer out of his apartment.
"I know that they've been friends for a while, and I know that Matt said she was never going to come here again and then she was here last night," said the witness.
The arguing continued.
"She was yelling and screaming at me. I'm not too sure what they said to each other," the witness added.
Kynoch was sitting on his bed when the witness said she allegedly saw the 31-year-old Rifendifer pick up a knife.
"He yelled back at her, and she walked over very calmly and stabbed him in the neck," the witness said.
Rifendifer walked out. Kynoch then staggered out, calling 911 on his cell phone.
"Blood was running down his chest," the witness said. "So, I followed him and I ran and got paper towels."
Kynoch made it to 6th and Philadelphia Streets before collapsing on the sidewalk. The witness likely helped save his life.
"I put the paper towels on his neck and held pressure on it until the cops got here," she said.
A bloody hunting knife with a six-inch blade was found in a hotel hallway.
Rifendifer was arrested at her home on Olive Street a short time later.
