24-year-old man shot in the stomach in North Versailles
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A man was shot in the stomach in North Versailles.
Allegheny County police said Tuesday that county 911 was notified of a shooting on Hyer Avenue around 4:30 p.m.
First responders found the victim, a 24-year-old man, at the Versailles Castle apartments. He was taken to a local hospital and is in critical but stable condition, police said.
Sources told KDKA-TV that the shooting happened outside the apartment complex. Police are questioning two residents, but no arrests have been made.
KDKA-TV was told the victim is from Pittsburgh. Detectives were seen looking through his car on Tuesday. Police said they have not talked to him yet.
"It's definitely tragic that it happened to someone here," one neighbor said. "For the most part, it's pretty quiet up here, mostly older people."
Two people who live inside the apartments said they heard more than 12 gunshots coming from behind the apartment building.
