Man Shot In Head At Wilkinsburg Last Night, Found Dead In Street
WILKINSBURG (KDKA)- A man was shot in the head in Wilkinsburg last night. Police say the shooting happened at the 1900 block of Laketon Road in Wilkinsburg, near Turner Elementary School.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner removed the body from the scene. Police say the man was found dead lying in the street when they got on scene. Police say he was shot in the head.
Police were searching an abandoned house on Laketon Road nearby looking for possible suspects. They were using a K9 as part of the search. Police say they did not find anyone in the home.
A woman that lives nearby says she's concerned about her 14-year old son's well-being.
"My son walks up and down this street. He has football practice... There's a lot of kids out on Halloween night tonight," neighbor Twanda Everett said. "No violence is up this way. There's a community block watch. Everybody looks out for everybody. Everybody knows everybody."
Police are still looking for the suspect or suspects involved. Allegheny County Police are handling the investigation.
