Man shot twice, killed in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood

Man dies after shooting in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man is dead after a shooting at a rental home in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood on Thursday.

Pittsburgh Police said officers responded to Wynoka Street at Brownsville Road shortly before noon after a man called 911 saying he'd been shot.

When first responders got there, they found a man on the first floor of the home with a gunshot wound to his chest. Police said he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He later died, Pittsburgh Public Safety said on social media.

The man has been identified as 25-year-old Jeremiah Anger.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said 23-year-old Breanna Didolce was charged with criminal homicide and tampering with evidence in connection with the case.

According to court paperwork, Didolce told police that she shot the man twice after they got into an argument.

Didolce told officers that the man had been physically and verbally abusive with her in the past. She says he threatened to throw her down the stairs and that's when she pulled out a gun and shot him.

Pittsburgh Police investigating the shooting

"We just have some audible witnesses at this time. They heard a gunshot, and that was it," Jeff Abraham of Pittsburgh Police said.

The mobile crime unit processed the scene and detectives with the violent crime unit are handling the investigation.

Off camera, some neighbors said they didn't know anything had happened until police arrived.

The next-door neighbor says she heard a sound but wasn't sure if it was a gun or not. Once she saw the flashing lights, she knew something was wrong.
