David A. McClelland died at the State Correctional Institution in Greene County on May 30 of natural causes.

He was convicted in the death of 92-year-old Evelyn Stepko.

She was found stabbed to death in July of 2011 inside her home in Coal Center.

Officials said that's where she had stashed thousands of dollars.

McClelland's son, also named David, is serving life; and his wife, Diane, is serving 29 years in prison for their alleged roles in Stepko's murder.

The younger David and Diane were sentenced in June of 2013.
