Man Pulls Out Gun During Apparent Road Rage Incident
MERCER COUNTY (KDKA) -- Police have charged a man for allegedly pointing a gun at passengers in another car while driving aggressively on I-79 Thursday afternoon.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the two victims were driving south on I-79 just south of Erie around 3 p.m. Thursday when 45-year-old Raymond McAllister of Erie drove up behind them at a high speed and began tailgating them. McAllister then passed them and began driving aggressively towards other motorists.
Police say the victims were driving in the lane next to McAllister as they entered Mercer County when McAllister pulled a pistol from his hip and pointed it at them. The victims called Pennsylvania State Police to report the incident.
A PSP corporal says he responded to the call and pulled McAllister over. The corporal found the pistol, which he says was loaded, on the front passenger seat. After he secured the gun and conducted interviews with McAllister and the victims, McAllister was taken into custody.
