PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are asking for the public's help to locate a patient that walked out of a Pittsburgh hospital Thursday night.

According to police, Raymond Devries, 71, of Ingram, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital to be treated for possible stroke symptoms around 2:30 p.m.

He is believed to have walked out of the hospital at 9:20 p.m. and has not been seen since. His wife was about to pick him up just before he vanished.

"She had gotten there around 9:50, and when she had gotten there, they said that he left around 9:20, took his IV out and left, and that's the last time he's been seen or heard," said Ingram Police Chief Jack Doherty. "We went to the hospitals, local hospitals, homeless shelters and things like that. They don't check in or anything, but they're going to look around for him this evening, and we have the county police and city police involved as well."

Devries has a heart condition, but does not have his medication, cash or a cell phone. Officials say he does have his wallet with him, with identification.

Devries is described as being 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighing 178 pounds with gray hair, a gray beard and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a brown coat, brown scarf, brown gloves and bluish green pants.

"He had a brown coat on, with a hood on it, a winter coat with a hood, not a hoodie, a brown scarf, brown gloves and bluish-gray pants," said Chief Doherty. "Once we receive information from the hospital, which entrance or exit he went out… because of the number of cameras on the North Side and down around PNC Park and Heinz Field, we're going to try to check all that."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or call 911.
