WILMERDING (KDKA) - A man has been charged following a deadly shooting in Wilmerding on Thursday morning.

Pitcairn police officers were called to the 700 block of Middle Avenue for reports of a man shot just before 10:30 a.m., Allegheny County police said.

At the scene, they found a 47-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen. He was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries.

KDKA learned the man who died is Eddie Green, who is the owner of Green Construction in Wilmerding. One of Green's employees told KDKA that there was an argument inside of Green's shop and that lead up to the shooting.

William Lamark said he witnessed his boss and best friend get shot. Lamark said the two were working in the garage Thursday when a man came inside and confronted Green over money.

"They were beefin, and he came to his garage and was pushing him out, saying get the hell out of my garage," Lamark said.

When the man would not leave, Greene punched him, Lamark said. That is when the man pulled out a gun and pistol-whipped Green. He was later fatally shot.

"They started tussling outside the garage," Lamark said. "One shot hit the ground and then he shot him in the stomach."

County police later said 47-year-old Jason Grubb is responsible for the shooting and has been charged with criminal homicide, recklessly endangering another person and carrying a firearm without a license. He was arrested Thursday in Marshall-Shadeland.

The Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. They are asking anyone with information to call them at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
