Man Shot In Both Legs In Downtown Apartment Building

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a man was shot in both his legs inside an apartment building downtown.
According to Pittsburgh Police, a man was shot inside the Venue Apartments along Stanwix Street around 9:45 Monday night. Police say he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
"Honestly I didn't hear anything, I didn't hear any commotion," resident Jackson Miller said.
People who live in the building said they didn't know anything happened until reports started coming out. Miller said the building management sent out an alert Tuesday morning.
"I was like, wow. That fact that could happen four floors down, because I'm on 15," Miller told KDKA.
When police got there, officers found a man who had been shot in both of his legs inside a suite on the 11th floor. Officers applied tourniquets to his legs until paramedics arrived.
"I've been living here about two years now but never had any of this happen," resident Jungal Bandvia said.
According to investigators, the victim was taken to a hospital. At last check, he is still in critical condition.
"I've never even thought about it. It's been safe until now and it's the first time happening this way," Bandvia said.

Property management said it is cooperating with the investigation, and their residents are their highest priority.
"I can't recall one single incident besides an alarm going off or like a dog pooping somewhere they shouldn't. Nothing," Miller said outside the building.
Police would not confirm if the victim lived in the building or not. They believe there is no immediate threat to the public.
"If you were ever thinking about, 'Do I need to lock the door when I'm going on this 30-minute walk?' or whatever, it's like absolutely," Miller said. "I'm locking the door now. I'm not super scared at the moment or anything."
Investigators are reviewing all possible video.
There was no description for a possible suspect. The police investigation is ongoing.
