Man flown to the hospital after dog attack in Fayette County
DUNBAR TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- A man was flown to the hospital after his dog attacked him in Fayette County.
State police say said the owner suffered serious injuries to his face and neck when his dog turned on him at a home on Center Street in Dunbar Township.
"It was a pit bull attack," said trooper Kalee Barnhart.
The dog grabbed onto the 37-year-old man, tearing at his face and neck, severely damaging his eye and eye socket. Barnhart said he was conscious and alert when he was flown to the hospital.
Sources familiar with the incident and the animal said the dog attacked a man in Januay and he too was flown to a hospital with catastrophic injuries to his face. The dog also allegedly attacked a child two years ago, according to the boy's father.
Several neighbors who didn't want to go on camera said the dog remains on the property inside a garage.
