Man Critically Injured In Homewood Shooting

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) – Police are investigating a shooting that left one man wounded in Homewood overnight.

Police say it happened on Susquehanna Street around 2:45 a.m. The shooting was reportedly caught by one of the Shotspotter notification systems.

When they got to the scene, police say they only found a shoe, but later found a 29-year-old man staggering near the intersection of Dallas and Hamilton avenues.

Police say he was shot in the face, back and chest.

He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition.

The shooting happened just hours before the Homewood 5K Prayer Walk/Run For Peace.

The 5K and prayer service was planned to promote peace in the neighborhood and improve community-police interactions.
