Man Charged After Allegedly Luring Children At 2 Amish Schools

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Lawrence County man has been charged after allegedly trying to lure Amish children on multiple occasions.

State Police say 38-year-old Lucas Klobetanz, of Ellwood City, was seen sitting in his car outside of an Amish School on Leesburg Station Road in Mercer County back in October.

Allegedly Klobetanz sat watching children from his car, then went to the boys' outhouse and called for the children to come to the outhouse.

Police say several children ran to a nearby house and notified an adult about Klobetanz, who then confronted him.

Klobetanz allegedly told the adult he had just dropped some toilet paper and needed help.

Police say a similar event happened at a Lawrence County Amish school just a few hours earlier.

Klobetanz has been charged in connection to the Mercer County incident, but charges have not been filed in the Lawrence County case.

He is currently in the Mercer County Jail.
