Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal July 4 Homewood Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Homewood on July 4, has been arrested.

Zachary Threats, 36, had plenty to say as he was led away to the Allegheny County Jail Tuesday night.

KDKA-TV was the only station at the scene when Threats decided to speak his mind.

He was arrested and charged with homicide, for the July 4 shooting death of 30-year-old Kaamil Arnold in Homewood.

Police say Threats walked into Arnold's home on Tioga Street during a neighborhood barbecue and shot and killed him.

U.S. Marshals tracked down Threats Tuesday at a home in the 5000-block of Broad Street in Garfield.

"I'm innocent, God bless, keep it on the streets, I ain't done nothing, I'm an innocent man," said Threats on his way to jail.

Threats went on to tell other youths in his neighborhood to get off the streets:

"Young black men and white kids, do something with your life, that lifestyle you're living, this ain't a game, they are looking for new pawns and players every day man, this ain't the walk of life you want to be in, change your life," he said.

Police say they are also looking at Threats as a person of interest in the murder of a man found in the woods in Northview Heights.

James Nelson's body was found in the woods near Penfort Street on Sunday, Aug. 3.

Police say he was shot to death and his body had been burned.

They believe Threats may be connected to the murder as well as several other crimes.

"Might be several cases we can put to rest with this one arrest," said Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler.
