Man Arrested For Firing Shots Into Strip District Bar

STRIP DISTRICT (KDKA) - A Bloomfield man was arrested after allegedly fired shots into a Strip District bar late Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. at Art's Tavern on Penn Avenue.

According to police, several individuals were removed from the bar by security, including 26-year-old Paul Durham of Bloomfield.

"One of the people who were removed pulled up in front of Art's Tavern and fired several shots at the building," said Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler.

Two people inside the bar were grazed by bullets. They were both treated by paramedics at the scene.

Shortly after the shooting, officers in Zone 2 spotted Durham's vehicle in the Bluff area of Pittsburgh. Toler said, "[They] pulled the guy over, he was positively identified and he was taken into custody."

Charges against Durham include aggravated assault, discharging a firearm into an occupied building and recklessly endangering another person.

This isn't the first time violence has struck Art's Tavern. Back in August of 2014, six people were shot outside of the bar. One of those people, 40-year-old Tyrone Tomman of Penn Hills,  died from his injuries.

The vehicle used in the shooting was found engulfed in flames a few hours later in the Hill District.
