Man Airlifted To Hospital, In Critical Condition After Shooting

MCKEESPORT (KDKA) -- According to Allegheny County Police, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Maple Street in McKeesport shortly after 2a.m. on Saturday for shots fired and a male shot. Police said a 29-year-old male was shot in his lower torso and legs.

The man, who police are not identifying at this time, was treated by EMS crews at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital via medical helicopter.

Police said the victim was last listed in critical condition but expected to survive.

No other injuries were reported.

A neighbor who lives nearby told KDKA, her vehicle was shot during the incident. She said her SUV sustained damage to both windshields, the hood and the front of the vehicle.

"There were six or more gunshots to the hood and the front of the car," the neighbor told KDKA.

The vehicle was towed away and will be used in the investigation into the shooting on Maple Street. Allegheny County Police Homicide Detectives are handling this investigation alongside McKeesport Police.
