Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Beaver Co. Girl

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Beaver County authorities have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.

Dorian Dietz, 41, allegedly molested the child on several occasions inside her home in Ambridge.

Police say he lived in the same house as the girl and her father.

"Mr. Dietz and his girlfriend split up and he needed a place to stay," said Ambridge Police Chief James Mann. "The victim's father befriended him and said, 'You can stay with us for a while until you get your feet on the ground.' Well, one thing led to another and this went on for like a year. He was just like a friend they let stay with them cause he didn't have anywhere else to stay."

Dietz reportedly apologized during interviews with police.

"After approximately an hour and 20 minutes, Mr. Dietz was very remorseful and apologetic and he confessed to all allegations that were filed against him by the 9-year-old female victim," Chief Mann said.

He is facing charges of indecent assault of a child and corrupting a minor.

"He knew he said it was wrong and he thought he was trying to comfort the girl, but it just went too far," Chief Mann said.

Dietz is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Meanwhile, police say the girl's father now regrets letting Dietz stay in their home.

"He's extremely upset that he let this guy stay with them, and this guy violated their trust," said Chief Mann. "He's very angry."
