4 Injured After Head-On Crash In Lower Burrell

LOWER BURRELL (KDKA) - A head-on crash shut down a stretch of Greensburg Road between New York and Broadway Avenues in Lower Burrell for more than four hours.

Police said four adults, a man and a woman in each car, were all trapped and had to be pulled out by emergency responders.

Dispatchers said the crash happened just before 11 p.m. Thursday and was clear around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

State police accident reconstruction crews were on the scene for hours gathering evidence.

Two helicopters and four ambulances were initially called to the scene. Three people were taken to hospitals by ambulance and a fourth was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Police said all four people in involved in the crash are expected to survive.

Lower Burrell Police will handle charges if any are filed.

They believe one of the drivers was under the influence of a controlled substance when the crash happened.
