Local Girl Making Wishes Come True While Pursuing Her Dream
BALDWIN (KDKA) -- A local girl has big dreams of making it to New York City one day.
She's a writer and producer, and she's only in the ninth grade at Baldwin High School, but her dreams are also making wishes come true.
It's a big production on a big stage.
And it has everything you want to see in a musical – murder, intrigue and the quest for love. Who would have thought it was all written, directed and produced by a high school student.
Her name is Mikayla Davic, and she has been working hard to put on her production called, "Murder On 34th Street."
The fans and the money are rolling in for the first of three performances and it's all for a good cause. All proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Foundation families.
"I just thought it was important to give them a glimpse of happiness and let them forget about their illnesses even for a day," says Davic.
This girl is no rookie. She did this same thing last year. Her musical raised enough money to send two families to Disney World.

She's also set a goal of raising $75,000 for Make-A-Wish by the time she graduates.
"I know as a parent that my daughter is dedicated to doing this every year, and at the end of the day, the benefit is tremendous and it's great for me and my wife and Mikayla as well," says Mike Davic, Mikayla's dad.
