Local Couple Wanted On Child Endangerment Charges Arrested In Florida

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA)- A local couple, who pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges and then fled the area, were captured in Florida.

Randy and Jessica Gutshall lived in Avalon. They were arrested yesterday in Jacksonville, Florida on bench warrants for endangering the welfare of children and drug charges.

In February of 2014, McKees Rocks police arrested the Gutshalls after receiving a complaint from a manager at Pizzeria Primo's in McKees Rocks.

Jessica Gutshall was sitting at a table with her two children. One of the children is wheelchair-bound Officers tried to for several minutes to get Randy Gutshall to open the bathroom door. After a few more minutes, he opened the door and police found evidence of drug use by both parents.

The Gutshalls both pleaded guilty to the charges in January.

Jessica was sentenced to three years probation. Her husband was sentenced to 11 1/2 to 23 months in the Allegheny County Jail.

He was given 30 days to report to jail to get his personal affairs in order, but he never showed up.

Sheriff's deputies learned that Gutshall fled the area with his wife. They later learned the couple was in Jacksonville, Florida.

After contacting police in that area, the Gutshalls were arrested at the Orange Park Mall in Clay County, Florida.

They are being held in jail in Florida and will be extradited back to Pittsburgh in the next couple of weeks.
