Former Pitt RB McCoy Investigated After 2 Off-Duty Cops Injured In Incident

PHILADELPHIA (KDKA) – Former University of Pittsburgh running back LeSean McCoy is being investigated after an incident left two off-duty police officers injured.

According to KYW-TV in Philadelphia, the incident happened at the Recess Lounge in Philadelphia's Old City district around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

McCoy and three others, including former Pitt wide receiver Tamarcus Porter and former NFL running back Curtis Brinkley, became involved in an altercation with three off-duty Philadelphia police officers.

The altercation allegedly started after a dispute over four bottles of champagne.

One of the officers suffered several broken bones, while another may have a skull fracture.

Details about the incident have not been released, but the two officers were hospitalized.

McCoy has not been arrested.

McCoy played two seasons for the Pitt Panthers before being selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2nd round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Prior to college, McCoy attended Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg.
