Intense Fire Destroys Home In Leechburg, Kills Family Pet
LEECHBURG (KDKA) -- An early morning fire destroyed a home in Leechburg and killed a family pet.
The fire broke out sometime after 5:30 a.m. on South Gosser Hill Road after the homeowners left for work.
According to emergency officials, the home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
Fire officials say it may have started in the kitchen or front living room.
No one was injured; however, the family's dog was killed.
"It was bad; it was really bad. I watched it burn. It was horrible," one neighbor said. "I was just hoping that everybody was okay."
Officials say the home is a total loss.
