Latest Round Of Snow Closing In On Western Pa.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – On top of cold temperatures, more snow will be falling on the area tonight.
There's no alerts or advisories from the National Weather Service in the immediate area, but KDKA Chief Meteorologist Jeff Verszyla says we can expect a "minor scattered snow shower event."
"It's not going to produce a lot in the way of accumulation, but some minor accumulation will be possible," Verszyla says.
He says tonight we'll see scattered and occasionally light snow showers with minor accumulations.
"I think we'll see maybe an inch or less locally and that's probably going to be on non-paved surfaces given the warmer ground, and right now, above freezing temperatures," Verszyla said. "Could see two [inches] in the Laurel Highlands.
Heading into the weekend, the snow will stop and sunshine will return.
"[Friday], things quiet down quickly. Clouds early give way to sunshine, and temperatures will continue to climb over the weekend," says Verszyla.
