Last Class Of Wilkinsburg High School Students Get Diplomas

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- The last graduates to ever walk the stage at Wilkinsburg High School received their diplomas Friday night.

A total of 25 young men and women will now follow their collegiate paths at institutions like Tulane University and Alabama State.

A cross-district partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools means all future seventh through 12th graders in the financially-strapped Wilkinsburg District will now attend Westinghouse in Homewood.

"It was actually very emotional. My class is like a family. It's hard because we're graduating and we're not going to see this building anymore," said class valedictorian Remy McIntyre.

"It's hard to see the era end. We graduated in '95 and it's hard to see this come to an end. It's sad," said Tina Rollins, whose nephew just graduated.

"It was really emotional, really amazing, because I feel like part of history," said graduate Davon Moultrie.
