Pennsylvania man wanted for attempted murder in Oregon taken into custody
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A man from Pennsylvania who was wanted for attempted murder with a firearm in Oregon has been taken into custody.
The Lancaster City Bureau of Police said in a news release that George James Ditzler III was taken into custody on Friday without incident. He was wanted in connection with a case in Washington County, Oregon.
Police said that the department received a felony warrant for Ditzler on Dec. 19. Officers attempted to serve the warrant at his home on Essex Street in Marietta Borough, Lancaster County, but the 44-year-old man was not at the residence.
On Friday, Lancaster police said it received information that Ditzler was in the area with family. Police found him at a home on West Vine Street and took him into custody without incident.
He was taken to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police Station and will be extradited to Oregon in the future.
Officials did not release any other information about the case.
